Cloud migration
Moving to the cloud is less about copying servers and more about knowing exactly what you're moving and why. We migrate applications running on virtual machines or on-premise hardware to the cloud — including high-performance computing workloads — with a plan that is proven before anything important moves.
What we do
A strategy per application
Not every application should move the same way. Some can be re-hosted as they are; others benefit from changes that take advantage of managed services. We recommend an approach for each one and write down the trade-offs.
High-performance computing
Compute-heavy workloads need careful sizing and data placement. We plan them explicitly rather than treating them like any other server.
Life after cut-over
A migration is not finished when the switch flips. We make sure monitoring, backups and deployment workflows work in the new environment, and connect it to DevOps automation where that is useful.
How a migration runs
Four stages, each with a clear outcome before the next one starts.
-
Discover
Identify the organisation's needs, build an inventory of applications and their dependencies, and choose a migration strategy.
-
Develop
Prepare a detailed migration plan for a smooth transition: sequence, environments, data movement and fallback.
-
Validate
Check the plan through a pilot implementation before committing the wider estate.
-
Migrate
Execute the validated plan, then test that everything runs as expected in its new home.
Platforms we work with
- Amazon Web Services
- Google Cloud
- VMware
- OpenStack
- Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat)
